At what age do children need to purchase a fare to travel by train?
Public transportation is free for children aged 5 and under. They must be accompanied by someone at all times.
Children aged 6 to 11 don’t need a fare if they’re travelling with a person aged 14 or older who has a valid fare (up to a maximum of 5 children aged 6 to 11 per person aged 14 or older).
However, children aged 6 to 11 travelling alone must have a valid fare for the entire duration of their trip.
