What is on-demand transit in Terrebonne?
On July 19, 2022, the new exo à la demande transit service was launched in Terrebonne to complement the regular bus network. Each on-demand transit vehicle can accommodate up to 3 people. Give it a try!
We are happy to announce that a chat function is now available on our exo on demand page, Monday to Friday, between noon and 4:30 p.m.
How do I book a trip?
It’s super easy! Reserve your trip in real time on the exo à la demande app in just a few clicks.
The exo à la demande app is available on the App Store and Google Play. To sign up, simply enter your full name, email and phone number.
The app will propose virtual stops at the closest targeted intersections.
You can book a trip for one or several people, depending on the available seating in the vehicle.

The exo on demand service is available to all users who hold a valid monthly pass for the Terrebonne-Mascouche sector (Zone C). You can also pay cash aboard the vehicle (exact change required).

The vehicle will arrive at the time confirmed in your reservation. Please present yourself at the stop a few minutes beforehand.
Travel with peace of mind! You can follow your vehicle in real time on the app, and you’ll receive a notification as it approaches.

It’s important that you modify or cancel your reservation to allow another user to take advantage of the service. You may cancel your trip at any time, up until the scheduled time of departure:

Identify your ride thanks to the name of the driver and the vehicle’s colour and model. EXO À LA DEMANDE stickers are also on the vehicle. Once on board, you can see the time of arrival at your destination in real time.
The driver will drop you at the intersection closest to your destination, within the area served.

The on-demand transit service is mostly concentrated in Old Terrebonne. The zone extends from south of Autoroute 25 up to the Rivière des Mille Îles, including the industrial area located between the railway line and highway, and also includes the residential area west of the railway line. In addition to this area, the service is also available at the Terrebonne bus terminal and in the Cinémas Guzzo area.

The on-demand transit service is a one-year pilot project added to the current bus network service. This new on-demand car service complements the current transit service to facilitate travel for users in the area. The service will operate Monday to Friday, from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.

This service is being offered as a one-year pilot project. Depending on its popularity, it may be maintained and/or extended to other sectors of the exo network. That’s currently the case in Beloeil and McMasterville, where a similar service was established a year ago, and which has been renewed for a second year.

Exo has partnered with Via Mobility, an on-demand transit solution that features an app available on the App Store and Google Play. Once you download the app, you may take advantage of exo à la demande and reserve your trips:

- Go to the intersection specified on the app
- Follow the car’s progress in real time on the app

This new on-demand service will be available Monday to Friday to complement our regular bus service. Reserving your trip in real time offers better flexibility with more direct routes and improved coverage of the area.

Customers who lose an item must visit the ticket office at the Terrebonne terminal to see if it has been found.

Strollers are the only items that may be placed in the trunk, and the customer is responsible for placing the stroller inside. Customers may ride with a package on their lap inside the car.

No, exo à la demande is a public transit service. The vehicle may stop on route to pick up other customers travelling in the same direction as you. No more than three (3) passengers will travel aboard the vehicle.

Testing the service with smaller vehicles allows us to compare it with the pilot projects already underway in Beloeil and McMasterville (which feature minibuses and midibuses)

No. Exo is making efforts to remove or reduce obstacles to using our public transit services for all passengers, while also providing high-quality paratransit services. The exo on demand pilot project has been developed in the same spirit. If the exo on demand service becomes permanent, exo will assess this aspect of the service. Currently, the mobile app related to this service complies with the WCAG 2.1 digital accessibility standards.

Yes, you can be accompanied by a maximum of 2 persons (children and/or adults). However, when making your reservation, you must obligatorily indicate the total number of passengers on your ride, including yourself, because the number of passengers allowed on board (3 persons at most) is calculated in real time.

No, guide or service dogs are the only animals allowed aboard on-demand transit vehicles.

This service is provided as part of a pilot project, and exo will closely monitor the service and modify it as necessary in the event of increased ridership if the pilot project is renewed or permanently established in the area.

Yes. If no vehicles are available, you will have to wait and try to reserve again a bit later. If the proposed timing doesn’t suit you, regular exo bus lines will still be available during the regular service hours in effect.

It is important that you ensure you ride in the right vehicle. Identify your ride thanks to the name of the driver and the vehicle’s colour and model. EXO À LA DEMANDE stickers are also on the vehicle.

The app will select and identify the intersection closest to your points of departure and arrival. The app will show you the shortest route to get there.
If you reserve by phone, the agent will indicate which intersection to go to and the distance to get there.

You may book your trip when you need to travel, i.e. in real time, via the mobile app or by calling exo Customer Service during business hours.

You may cancel your trip on the mobile app or by phone (Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday, Sunday and holidays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
If a customer does not cancel their reservation and is not present at the stop at the scheduled time, a note of “absent” will be made in their account and they will be sent an email or text message.
Please note that it is important to cancel your trip to allow other customers to use the service and prevent the car from making an unnecessary trip. Exo reserves the right to take action in the event of misuse.

In order to avoid being late for other reservations, the driver will wait for a maximum of two (2) minutes at your stop. If you are not there, they will indicate that you have not used the service.

Yes. Simply register the number of people who will be travelling with you when you book. Please note that up to three (3) people may travel in the same vehicle, but we cannot guarantee that every person in your reservation will travel in the same vehicle.

Yes, the terms of use for exo buses and free transportation for children also apply to this service. To book a trip, each passenger must have an account in their name and download the exo à la demande app for an optimal experience. You may create a reservation for another account by calling exo Customer Service.
