It’s hot. It’s a beautiful day. Time to enjoy the best part of summer! We’ve compiled a list of our favourite beaches on Montréal’s North Shore that are accessible by public transit. Have a nice dip!

The calm and clear waters of Lac des Deux Montagnes at Oka National Park are perfect for swimming. The gently sloping shoreline allows visits to enjoy the water safely, and you can also go kayaking, paddle boarding and sailing.

Hiking enthusiasts can explore the park’s many paths, while cyclists will love the groomed biking trails. Playgrounds for children, beach volleyball courts, and picnicking areas are also available on site.

The golden sand beach extends the length of the Lac Lafontaine shoreline, providing the perfect space to tan, play and unwind. Swimming is especially popular thanks to the excellent water quality and safe swimming areas. For lovers of water sports, pedal boats and kayaks are available to rent. Kids can play at the playgrounds designed just for them.

Located in Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, La Sablière municipal beach is a favourite of families looking to relax and enjoy some fun in the water. Bordering Lac des Deux Montagnes, this golden beach is the ideal place to enjoy a warm summer day.

The beach is equipped with modern facilities for visitor comfort. Toilets and showers are located nearby and picnic areas with tables and barbecues are available to enjoy a delicious outdoor meal. A snack bar is also available for nibbles and refreshments if you prefer to travel light.
