In 2024, 2,250,728 million tickets were sold to ride the 62.8 km of track linking Saint-Jérôme to downtown Montréal. Along Line 12’s 12 stations, we explored 7 stops that—if you ask us—are absolutely worth a visit. In this article, we invite you to discover (or rediscover) the classics like the P’tit Train du Nord and Jean-Talon Market, as well as a few lesser-known gems like the Boisé des lacs Fauvel and Old Sainte-Thérèse. Saint-Jérôme Station: P’tit Train du Nord

Dear nature lovers and weekend wanderers—have you heard of the P’tit Train du Nord?
More than just a former railway, it’s a true gem of Québec’s rail-to-trail legacy. This scenic route has been transformed into a year-round playground for outdoor enthusiasts, welcoming cyclists in summer and cross-country skiers in winter. It's your ticket to exploring the natural wonders of northern Québec—at your own pace.
Blainville station: Boisé des lacs Fauvel
Need a breath of fresh air between two stops? The Boisé des lacs Fauvel in Blainville offers 3.5 km of trails winding around two peaceful lakes and through 70 hectares of forest rich in biodiversity.
Once a quarry, this restored site has blossomed into a wildlife sanctuary. Observation platforms are equipped with binoculars so you can get a close-up look at the many bird species that call this area home.

Sainte-Thérèse station: Old Sainte-Thérèse

With 12 designated heritage sites, Sainte-Thérèse is steeped in history—especially from the era of Québec’s industrial boom.
Just a short walk from the station, you’ll find buildings that tell stories of the town’s past. Stop in, wander around, and let Old Sainte-Thérèse reveal its quiet charm.
Rosemère station: Tylee Marsh

Nature is never far on the North Shore—and Rosemère’s Tylee Marsh is proof. Just a 10-minute walk from the station, this tranquil wetland offers winding paths and a wooden boardwalk that immerses you in a protected ecosystem.
It’s the perfect spot for birdwatching or simply soaking in the peaceful rhythm of nature.

Sainte-Rose station: Old Sainte-Rose
Once a vacation retreat for Montréal’s bourgeoisie along the Rivière des Mille-Îles, Old Sainte-Rose still carries its timeless charm. Its 19th- and early 20th-century houses now host artisan shops and restaurants.

Vimont Station: Bois de l’Équerre

The Bois de l’Équerre is one of Laval’s last great urban forests—and a haven for wildlife. Home to 160 bird species, 20 types of mammals and 10 kinds of reptiles and amphibians, it offers 12.95 km of trails, including 1.65 km that are accessible to people with reduced mobility.
It’s the perfect spot for birdwatching or simply soaking in the peaceful rhythm of nature.
In the winter, grab a pair of snowshoes (rentals available!) and head out into the snowy woods. In the summer, bring a blanket and enjoy a picnic in one of the designated rest areas.
Pro tip: Go by bike. It’s a bit of a walk from the station.

Parc station: Jean-Talon Market
Jean-Talon Market is a Montréal icon. Open since 1933, this open-air and covered market is a feast for the senses—offering everything from fresh local produce to dairy, meats, fish, and spices.
Beyond the colourful stalls, you’ll find cafés, bistros, and restaurants perfect for a pit stop or a long lunch.
