Sugar shack season means great food, sunshine, and good times. It’s no wonder everyone loves this sweet time of year!

Opened in 1948 and recognized as a Québec heritage site, Le Chalet des Érables i is the perfect place to dive into sugar shack traditions. With historic buildings nestled in a forest of century-old maple trees, it offers an experience that’s as authentic as it is delicious. On the menu: all the sugar shack classics, from crispy oreilles de crisse (pork rinds) to hearty traditional dishes drenched in maple syrup.

Visitors can also enjoy a variety of activities, including hiking through the forest, visiting the petting farm, exploring the maple shop, hopping on a rail train tour, riding in a horse-drawn carriage, testing your skills on a mechanical bull, or enjoying the bumper cars and carousel - there’s something for all ages to enjoy.

Since 1974, L'Érablière aux Trois Renards has been offering visitors the full authentic sugar shack experience. Here, it’s all about tradition, great food, and family fun. Plenty to explore: take a horse-drawn wagon ride, meet the farm animals, visit the Maple History Museum, and enjoy lively folk music—all before sitting down to a classic sugar shack feast to top off the day!

During sugar season, the museum serves a traditional feast, featuring bannock bread, Atikamekw-style sugar pie, and storytelling by the fire about Indigenous traditions—perfectly paired with dessert.
