Looking for toboggan runs on the South Shore this winter? Here’s our selection of the region’s best-groomed sledding hills. Most of them have snow cannons and all are accessible by public transit.

When the conditions are right, the toboggan hill in Sainte-Julie is a must in the region for sledding enthusiasts. There are individual sledding tracks and on busy days a monitor is on-site to ensure everything runs smoothly.
And good news for snowboarders: you’re welcome to use the hill, too.
The hill is located at the intersection of Blvd. Armand-Frappier and Chemin du Fer-à-Cheval. Bus lines 8, 3 and 1, and taxibus T32 (upon reservation) will drop you nearby.

The three-lane sledding hill at Parc de la Gare, at the intersection of Rue Denis-Papin and Rue Gilbert-Dionne, is groomed with a snowcat and equipped with an artificial snow cannon. It’s open daily from 10 a.m. until nightfall and can be accessed from Mont-Saint-Hilaire Station and exo on-demand.

Powered by solar lighting, the Grizzly slope features five lanes and reaches a height of eight metres. On chilly days, sledding enthusiasts can warm up by the cozy gas fireplace.

Tucked away in a picturesque, wind-protected setting, Parc Régional des Grèves features a four-lane sledding hill with mechanically groomed runs. Air tubes are available for rent ($), and a cozy chalet on-site offers a spot to warm up and enjoy a snack.
Bus line 700 stops an 11-minute walk from the park entrance.

This hill is a favourite with kids, as it stays open nearly all winter thanks to artificial snow produced by the city’s snow cannons. Another bonus: the park is lit up in the evening for nighttime fun.
Bus line 200 on Route 116 stops a two-minute walk from Parc du Petit-Rapide, accessible via Rue Choquette or Rue Champlain.
