Holiday magic and festivities on the South Shore

From Christmas markets and parades to family attractions, the South Shore of Montreal is full of activities to delight Christmas enthusiasts. In this article, we’ll cover what we believe to be the must-see places to get into the holiday spirit and enjoy some magical family moments.
Christmas markets
Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville
As per tradition, Féerie takes place every early December in Lac du Village. Visitors can explore an amazing Christmas market with close to 80 merchants, all while participating in numerous free family activities, like a meet and greet with Santa Clause himself.

Saint-Hyacinthe
Likely one of the best-organized Christmas markets in the South Shore, the Saint-Hyacinthe market is open for three weekends, has varied themes, and has a programme of shows and activities for all ages.

- December 6 to 8, 2024 – Creative market
- December 13 to 15, 2024 – Creative and gourmet market
- December 20 to 22, 2024 – Gourmet market

Hudson
More than thirty merchants are expected at Hudson Christmas Market. Musical groups, outdoor fires, and kiosks serving food and hot beverages will be there as well.
Little ones can even get their faces painted and meet Santa Clause on December 8, starting at 11:00 AM.

Santa Clause Parade in Sainte-Julie
For the 26th year in a row, Santa Clause and his floats will be taking to the streets of Sainte-Julie. Citizens and parade-goers can also visit the local Christmas village from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM to enjoy the on-site entertainment.

Family outings

The trains get a makeover
The Canadian Railway Museum is decorating its trains for the holidays and offering a show that is sure to delight train lovers, no matter their age. And, to make the visit even more festive, craft and cookie decorating stations will be in full swing.
