OPUS+ entreprise membership in brief

What is it?

OPUS+ entreprise membership is a program that allows you to offer your employees a substantial discount on their transit fare.

How to participate?

Your company must have:

  • one or several branches located on the ARTM territory;

  • a minimum of 10 employees ready to sign up for the OPUS+ entreprise program.

  • Tax deductions (provincial) if you supplement the exo discount.

  • You motivate and retain your employees through your commitment.

No. ARTM automatically offers a monthly 8.33% discount. However, employers are encouraged to supplement this discount. Employers who choose to contribute financially to the program can adjust the amount of their contribution at any time within the established dates.

  • Yes, an employer (of the private sector) who provides his employees with public transit passes (or reimburses the cost thereof) is entitled to deduct 100% of the expense from his business income, according to Revenu Québec regulations.

  • When an employer supplements our discount, the amount absorbed by the employer is not considered a taxable benefit by Revenu Québec.

  • The employer simply needs to fill out the online membership form (French only).

  • He must then send in two original copies of the agreement, duly completed and signed, by mail.

  • Allow five business days for the account to be activated.

  • The employer will then receive an identification code that he forwards to his employees so they can fill out their own membership applications.

  • The employer must then validate the membership requests of his employees who have signed up through our website. This constitutes no contractual obligation between employer and employee.

  • The employer may access his account at any time to track the number of employees who have subscribed, the total amount payable monthly, etc.

  • The employer may contact our Customer Service at all times to get help or for a personalized service.

Employers who offer an additional discount can choose one of the three following methods:

  • Automatic debit from a bank account

  • Automatic charge to a credit card

  • Invoice

Payments will be processed automatically between the 20th and 25th day of each month.

Benefits for your employees

  • An 8.33% monthly discount on their transit fare – the equivalent of one free month offered by ARTM.

  • Additional rebate if your company offers an extra discount; this advantage is non-taxable at the provincial level for your employees.

  • No more monthly waiting lines since their OPUS card is always valid.

  • A free OPUS card when they sign up and a replacement guarantee in case of loss, theft or damage.*

*Only the $6 cost of replacing the OPUS card is required.

If your employer supplements the discount we offer, this additional amount is not considered a taxable benefit by Revenu Québec.

  • Your employer must first become a member of the OPUS+ entreprise program. Once he has subscribed, you will receive an identification code and be invited to sign up directly online.

  • Your employer must then validate your membership request.

  • You must submit your membership request before or on the 9th day of the month and it must be approved by your employer before or on the 10th in order to be validated for the coming month. For instance, if your employer validates your membership by January 10th, your membership will be active on February 1st. If your employer validates your membership request on January 16th, your membership will begin on March 1st.

  • You will then receive your OPUS card by mail, loaded with fares for the next 12 months. Your membership will be renewed automatically until you or your employer decide to end it.

Payments are processed automatically between the 11th and 15th of each month.

Yes, but please note the following:
  • In order to benefit from the monthly discount of 8.33%, you must be a member for at least 12 consecutive months. If you cancel your membership before the end of this 12-month period, you will have to reimburse the amount discounted until then.
  • However, you may cancel your membership without having to reimburse the discounted amount for one of the reasons listed in your membership contract.

How do I take advantage of the program?

  • As soon as you register as an employer, your employees can sign up online quickly and easily!
  • Employees must register before the 10th day of the month to receive a loaded OPUS card for the following month.
  • Your employees can change their membership free of charge.
  • A membership can be cancelled for free after a period of 12 consecutive months. The OPUS+ entreprise program has no limits on duration. However, employers and employees who subscribe to the program must stay with the program for at least 12 consecutive months to be eligible for the 8.33% monthly discount.
