Public consultations
For each reconfiguration project, exo organizes a public consultation of all interested parties (officials, municipal administrations, local businesses and organizations, customers, population, etc.).
This consultation process, which takes place in two phases, aims to achieve the following goals:
Phase 1: establish the specific needs and concerns of each sector in order to guide exo’s professionals in the development of the new network. This first phase is scheduled for Spring 2024.
Phase 2: validate the proposed network and identify the improvements to be integrated into the final network. This second phase is scheduled for Spring 2025.
All these activities will be gathered and published in a consultation report prepared by our partner Groupe BC2, who accompanies us during this process.
For both phase 1 and 2 of the public consultations, exo calls upon Groupe BC2, an urban design and development company specializing in concertation and public participation, to host the consultations, analyze the info gathered and ensure the integrity of the process.
Yes, bus schedules will be adjusted when the new network is implemented. Scheduled date is Spring 2027.
These schedules will be made known in advance in order to allow users to plan their trips accordingly.
Rate changes are part of a different project: the fare reform project.
This aspect is a prerogative of the Autorité régionale de transport métropolitain (ARTM), which is in charge of simplifying and harmonizing fares for the entire Montreal region.

We are aware that commuting within suburbs is an increasing trend. The goal of the network reconfiguration being to adapt to user needs and concerns, the intermunicipal service will of course be improved where demand warrants it.
Improvement of off-peak and weekend service is an integral part of the reflection concerning the reconfiguration of the bus network.
Frequency will also be re-examined on a certain number of lines.
Needs will be evaluated and service scenarios will be proposed for these time periods, within the limits of our financial capacities and the budgets we are allowed.
Some services could be modified depending on demand. However, it is too early to say.
We are constantly improving our facilities, depending on the needs identified and the funding we receive, and we will continue to do so.
Incidentally, the new Châteauguay terminal is the interchange hub for exo’s bus network in the Sud-Ouest – Haut-Saint-Laurent sector as of April 8 2024. Users will be able to access all exo services at the same location. To be able to centralize a majority of bus and taxibus lines of the sector and to make local commuting and transfers easier, exo has added 10 boarding platforms at the Châteauguay terminal and 2 more on Saint-Jean-Baptiste Blvd. These improvements allowed us to optimize lines 22, 24 and 29 by adding four new trips daily.
Yes, the Châteauguay park-and-ride lot will be maintained.
All major trip generators in the territory will be taken into account in the proposed network.
